BlueScope chair, Jane McAloon, said BlueScope is pleased to welcome Michael Morley as an independent Non‑executive director, effective 1 June 2026.
Jane McAloon said, “Michael brings valuable global senior management experience across industrial, cyclical and capital‑intensive businesses. He has deep and broad commercial and operational steel industry experience across the value chain from steelmaking through to fabrication, distribution and customer relationships, and brings significant corporate development and M&A experience. His appointment adds to the breadth of skills on the board.”
Michael Morley said, “I’m delighted to be joining the BlueScope board at such an exciting time for the company. BlueScope has a strong track record and clear direction, and I’m looking forward to working with the Board and management to support its continued performance and value creation.”

Noting her service, Ms McAloon said, “Rebecca has made a very significant contribution to BlueScope during her 12 year tenure, including her leadership as chair, remuneration and organisation committee. On behalf of the board, I thank Rebecca for her unwavering commitment to the company and wish her well for the future."
As BlueScope enters a new era of growth and returns, the board has refreshed its committee structure to streamline effective board governance and oversight. These changes ensure the board’s governance framework remains fit for purpose as the company and its operating environment continue to evolve.”
