Pomini Tenova and Siemens strengthen partnership to advance roll grinder revamping solutions
Pomini Tenova and Siemens announced the strengthening of their long-standing partnership to support customers in the revamping and modernisation of roll grinders. Building on over four decades of joint projects and nearly 1000 Pomini Tenova machines already equipped exclusively with Siemens technologies, the partnership enters its next phase.
Pomini Tenova and Siemens will work together to transform existing roll grinders into high-performance systems, ready for fully autonomous operation.
The renewed focus of the partnership places the transition to fully autonomous machines at the forefront. By tightly integrating Pomini Tenova’s mechanical upgrades and process-specific accessories with the advanced Siemens technologies, the collaboration sets the basis for fully autonomous operation. This is achieved through digital monitoring and diagnostic tools as well as predictive maintenance. It also supports continuous process optimisation, leveraging industrial AI-based features. Revamping solutions deliver increased productivity, reduced downtime and improved safety standards, while maximising performance and helping to ensure high grinding quality throughout the entire machine operating life.
“Strengthening our collaboration with Siemens allows us to offer customers comprehensive revamping solutions that go beyond mere equipment upgrades, towards a truly AI-powered autonomous operation,” said Paolo Gaboardi, EVP Pomini Tenova. “By integrating Siemens’ advanced automation and digital technologies with our roll grinder-specific solutions, we help customers improve long-term competitiveness and enable them to differentiate from the competition.”
Sascha Fischer, VP sales for machine tool business at Siemens, added, “Together with Pomini Tenova, we transform roll grinders by upgrading the machine’s CNC core. At the same time, we combine deep domain expertise with advanced digital and future-proof automation technologies, as we do with new machines, for which we also take advantage of including Siemens’ most comprehensive digital twin. This approach enables more autonomous operations and unlocks new value from customers’ existing assets.”
