Pomini Tenova partners with Ingersoll Machine Tools to redefine roll grinder revamping
Pomini Tenova and Ingersoll Machine Tools have signed a strategic partnership agreement, aimed at significantly strengthening the technical support and modernisation services available to the metals industry across North America. The partnership will focus on promoting and delivering extensive revamping projects for roll shop equipment.
The aim of the agreement is to strengthen the technical support and modernisation services available to the metals industry across North America
The agreement merges Pomini Tenova’s expertise as original equipment manufacturer (OEM), encompassing equipment, engineering and digital solutions to meet process requirements, with Ingersoll’s notable industrial footprint and advanced manufacturing capabilities across USA, Canada and Mexico.
Customers will be able to modernise their existing assets with excellence-tier technology while benefiting from the logistical advantages of a highly qualified partner with robust local infrastructure and capabilities.
Under this agreement, the responsibilities are strategically divided to maximise efficiency and technological output:
Pomini Tenova will provide the core technological ‘brain’ of the projects, including specialised engineering knowledge, automation and HMI software. Furthermore, it will supply internationally patented measuring devices, NDT (non-destructive testing) inspection systems, surface quality control and certification, plus advanced Industry 5.0 diagnostic solutions for machine monitoring.
Ingersoll Machine Tools will act as the regional manufacturing hub. Thanks to its large facility in Rockford, Illinois, Ingersoll will provide heavy-duty, high-precision machining, capable of meeting any machining task related to roll shop equipment revamping by size and accuracy. The range of its capabilities includes stress relieving, sandblasting and painting, as well as reverse engineering, which is necessary when original design details are not available. Additionally, Ingersoll boasts a group of highly qualified local craftsmen for mechanical assembly and logistics.
“Our partnership builds on a long-standing and trusted collaboration, and we’re excited to take this next step together,” said Jeff Kimberly, president and CEO at Ingersoll Machine Tools. “Over the years, our groups have already combined their capabilities on key investments – such as the ATLAS milling center at Pomini Tenova’s Castellanza facility. By bringing our strengths together, today we can deliver advanced revamping solutions that maximise performance, improve efficiency and extend equipment’s life, driving sustainability across the full lifecycle.”
"This strategic alliance with Ingersoll Machine Tools allows us to be closer to our North American customers than ever before," stated Paolo Gaboardi, executive vice president at Pomini Tenova. "By combining our innovative digital technologies with Ingersoll’s formidable manufacturing infrastructure, we are creating a unique value proposition that prioritises both performance and sustainability in their widest sense. Our partnership is a unique blend of solid experience, heritage and dynamic innovation.”
